Cotton on High

"Cotton on High" was created in the Mississippi Delta. My family and I lived in Jackson, MS for a couple of years and one of our goals was to see cotton in "real life". Coming from the north, we only ever saw it in photos. It was incredible. It's a fiber coming from a plant! A real fiber! It's not a flower or fruit, something you would think of coming from a plant, and there were fields and fields of it. The cotton bursts out of the boll (the bud like casing) and the cotton isn't held by much to the plant. In fact, when we were in this field, some of the cotton was loose blowing down the roadway. Mississippi will always hold a special place in our hearts.
