Edison, N.J. (April 2013) – VIGO Industries recently donated over 48,000 kitchen and bathroom items to the Calvary Rescue Mission. "It's such a rewarding feeling to offer our kitchen and bathroom items to charity," states Lenny Valdberg, President of VIGO Industries.
There were more than 400 kitchen sinks and over 300 bathroom items donated for use in the "Village of Hope Africa" project run by the Calvary Rescue Mission. Corporate donations are the cornerstone of expanding programs for schools, orphanages, churches, and shelters. "We are very pleased to know our products will be used for such a generous cause," continued Mr. Valdberg.
The shipping container left the VIGO warehouse in New Jersey filled to the top with stainless steel sinks, kitchen faucets, glass vessel sinks, vessel faucets, and bathroom vanities. The total value of the donation to The Calvary Rescue Mission and the people of Ghana exceeded $800,000. "As we strive to stay on top of the design trends in the kitchen and bath industry, we will accumulate discontinued items, in our kitchen and bathroom faucet collections," said Valdberg, "this is the best way to handle the surplus."
Founded in 2006, The Calvary Rescue Mission of Accra, Ghana, is a Christian non-governmental and non-profit Missionary agency engaged in humanitarian work in rural and deprived communities in Ghana, Africa. Hanna Atiase, the Mission's USA Representative was very pleased with the overall experience and looks forward to continuing her relationship with VIGO and their Technical Manager, Chris Breen, "Christopher has been a pleasure to work with. He has made the process seamless", commented Atiase.
