FAIRLAWN, OHIO, March 3, 2009 – OMNOVA Solutions (NYSE:OMN) announces the commercial introduction of Omna-Glo™ 100 latex polymer, a novel technology for floor polishes. When used as the primary ingredient in floor polish formulations, Omna-Glo 100 can help to reduce the cost of maintaining highly durable and attractive floors.
Omna-Glo 100 latex polymer carries on a rich tradition of innovation by OMNOVA Solutions, which traces its origins to The General Tire and Rubber Company, with a long history of pioneering unique products based on synthetic latex polymers.
Floor polishes incorporating Omna-Glo 100 polymer can be made using conventional co-raw materials and techniques, and their performance is exceptional. These polishes exhibit ultra-high initial gloss and outstanding gloss retention that lowers costs by extending the useful lifetime of the polished floor. The polishes have especially good detergent resistance that facilitates aggressive cleaning of heavily soiled floors without damaging their appearance, yet can be easily removed using standard stripping methods. This can reduce maintenance costs because fewer repair coats are needed over the life of the floor.
OMNOVA offers a range of recommended formulations employing Omna-Glo 100 polymer for a variety of polish types, including those for low maintenance scrub and recoat finishes to high-speed burnishable polishes.
