When French luxury jeweler Mauboussin approached the Rockwell Group to design its new store, the prestigious design firm knew it had to find a superior glass studio, one with a reputation for developing unique design solutions and with a flair for artistry. After all, Mauboussin was no ordinary client. A true aristocrat in its field, France’s oldest fine jeweler is as renowned for its unstinting insistence in gem quality as it is for its exclusive clientele of royalty from around the world.

Rockwell selected Nathan Allan Glass Studios Inc. to create a unique architectural décor element. The challenge: to make an aesthetic statement without upstaging the high-end merchandise it was to show off in the best possible light. The solution: a sparkling wall of glass that unifies three floors while complementing Maboussin’s exquisite pieces.

Working in conjunction with Rockwell’s designers, Nathan Allan developed
an icy, glittering new product that summons the chiseled surfaces of brilliant diamonds—Crackle Glass. This original product required that Nathan Allan’s designers and artisans overcome several materials challenges. The completed edifice and the client’s satisfaction is testimony that they succeeded at all facets of the job.
