Modern-day fabricators are facing new challenges with the increased use of glass mosaics and glass tile in today’s fabrications. Diamond Tech, a leader in the tool industry, helps them meet these challenges with the DL5000.

"I created an abstract countertop backsplash, 6 feet long by 18 inches high. The customer wanted the installation to be playful and wavy with lots of color intertwined - I used stained glass, gold smalti, millefiori and beads. Even though this type of installation was a change from my usual stone and tile installations, the DL5000 got me through it with outstanding results," states Emily Tholberg of Tholberg Mosaics.

Diamond Tech describes its Diamond Laser 5000 as being able to cut through glass, tile, stone, and porcelain with ease, speed and comfort. The key, its three-wheel system, the top wheel assembly, pivots on a separate bearing with suppressors controlling its motion. By absorbing more vibration, the saw is capable of extremely effective blade-material contact with the blade tensioning knob directly connected to the top wheel assembly accurate adjustments can then be made.

Precision cutting is accomplished with a 61.5" diamond-coated steel blade; its technology is deeply entrenched in the world of stone and tile. The saw also features a 15" x 13" work surface and a "block and bearing" guide system which adjusts to the thickness of the material being cut. The

DL5000 saw also has the advantage of being portable. It weighs just 55 lbs., has its own carrying handle. The ½ hp variable-speed motor enables the user to cut through glass, granite and anything in between.
